About NCO
Our Mission
“We stand in the gap between poverty and caring agencies with resources to help children.”
This mission statement was inspired by Ezekiel 22:30 (NKJV):
It reflects our desire to be an organization that “stands in the gap” for children, helping to meet their needs and the needs of their families.
Northwest Children’s Outreach is an all-volunteer, Christian-founded and -led group, desiring to love those in need with the love of Christ: by providing for their most basic needs.
We function as a collection and distribution center, collecting resources for these children and distributing the goods to local care providers who meet directly with and prescreen the children.
We are a 501(c)3 nonprofit corporation, so any donations are tax-deductible (please see your financial advisor for details on charitable donations).
NCO does not discriminate against any child, regardless of religious, political, or other affiliations.
What We Do
Northwest Children’s Outreach was founded in March of 2001, opening for weekly orders in June of 2001. Since our inception, NCO has grown to support over 500 Care Providing agencies with the items families need, such as:
- Diapers
- Clothing – newborn to teen
- Books
- Shoes
- Formula
- Hygiene Products
- Toys
- Other items children need
Our volunteers – the heart of NCO, work as teams for maximum organization and efficiency. They sort clothing, pack orders, shop for the best deals on items we purchase, pick up donations and assist in the day-to-day operation of Northwest Children’s Outreach.
Some volunteers lead drives in their offices, churches, schools, and clubs to raise money and donations for the items needed. They recruit other volunteers, scour their closets for donations, and rally friends, family, and co-workers to help in this worthy cause.
Other volunteers work in groups, helping to organize the centers, prepare orders, organize teams and work with each other and other groups.
Volunteers are indispensable for the daily operation of our organization, from office work and planning to telephone calls and organizing.
